A basic understanding of gendered processes within organization and work; ability to recognize and question gendered processes, structures, and dynamics within organization and work; knowledge on how to promote equity within organizations.
Lehrmethodik
In-person teaching and discussion of key concepts; take-home and in-class tasks: individual and in groups to deepen the understanding and knowledge of the discussed concepts; working with scientific papers.
Inhalt/e
Basic concepts of gender studies within work and organization. Amongst others: (history of) feminist theories, equity and equality, gender vs. sex, gendered organization, glass cliff/ceiling and leadership, tokenism, masculinities, role incongruity and stereotypes, unconscious bias, heteronormativity, and intersectionality.
Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
This course is taught in English, hence students should be able to read and write texts in English (though grammar and punctuation will not influence marking as long as it is possible to understand the writing).
