The objective of this course is the critical reflection of different diversity management concepts as well as the opportunities, risks and challenges of diversity management for organizations. In doing so, the students deal in depth with essential concepts of diversity and work on current issues. They learn to critically discuss commonalities and differences between individual dimensions as well as intersectional perspectives, and to understand inclusion and exclusion processes abstracted from them. After completing the course, they will be able to reflect theoretically on their dimension-specific knowledge in the field of diversity management and anti-discrimination and apply it to different practical contexts.
Lehrmethodik
(Guest) lectures, reading and editing of scientific literature, presentations, discussions, reflection exercises, case studies, etc.The course is planned face-to-face.Prerequisites for possible online sequences:- Participation with webcam & microphone- Stable internet connection- Active participation- Reporting of absences
Inhalt/e
This course deals with the implementation of diversity strategies in organizations as well as central differentiation categories/diversity dimensions (age, believe, disability, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and social class). A continuous transformation between implicit and explicit diversity-specific knowledge is discussed. The transfer of theoretical concepts to current discourses and problems takes place by means of integrative teaching and learning methods.
