The objectives of the course are the following: 1. Further enhance the common “language” and framework to understand the problems and the challenges which an Operations or Logistics Manager has to face on the job. 2. Give participants an understanding of the international as well as global relevance of Operations Management and Logistics. 3. Give participants an understanding of the main strategic decisions in Operations Management and Logistics. 4. Improve the methodological know-how of the participants. Most notably in the field of mathematical optimization. 5. Make participants improve their analytical and teamwork skills.
Lehrmethodik inkl. Einsatz von eLearning-Tools
The course follows a dual approach: On one hand, students study theoretical concepts, tools and techniques of operations and logistics management based on lectures and exercises. On the other hand, students have the opportunity to apply all concepts in case studies and practical exercises.We will make use of the e-learning platform Moodle and standard office applications (i.e. Excel).
Inhalt/e
This course further elaborates on the contents of the corresponding lecture "Operations Management and Logistics I" through the use of case studies and as practical examples and applied exercises.
