After the course, you will know how toidentify and analyze journals relevant to your field of study and appropriate articles,write an exposé and a literature review,evaluate exposés,design an empirical study.Further, you will also have a better knowledge of selected topics in empirical social research and know what kind of research your colleagues in the PhD cohort are doing.

In the doctoral seminar, you will identify and analyze journals relevant to your field of study and appropriate articles,complete the exposé for the Doctoral Committee,write a literature review and prepare it for submission to a peer-reviewed journal (= first paper of your cumulative doctoral project),evaluate the exposés of two colleagues,start to design your empirical study and, if necessary, develop the questionnaire.
