The examination will cover the following main topics:Historical development and legal basis of anti-discrimination lawProtected characteristics in anti-discrimination lawCurrent challenges and problems in anti-discrimination lawCritical examination of current legal and social problems in the field of anti-discrimination.
Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe
1) Oral participation and contributions to discussions (30%)Active participation in discussions and group work is an essential part of the course. Students should contribute their opinions on the topics covered, present arguments in a reflective manner and actively participate in discussions on current issues of anti-discrimination law.Criteria: Quality of contributions, relevance of arguments, willingness to engage in critical debate, interactive participation.2) Presentation of a case study (20%)In small groups or individually, depending on the size of the course, students will work on a case study on a current problem in the field of anti-discrimination. They should analyze the legal problem, apply relevant legislation and case law and propose possible solutions or improvements.Criteria: Structure and clarity of presentation, depth of analysis, ability to apply what has been learned in practice.3) Written examination (50%)At the end of the semester there will be a written examination that tests both the theoretical foundations and the application of anti-discrimination law in practice. The exam questions may include both theoretical and practical case questions.Criteria: Clarity of argumentation, completeness and correctness of answers, ability to integrate different perspectives and legal principles.
