In this class, students will gain insight into advanced research methodologies in literary and cultural studies. We will discuss what methods and approaches are appropriate for research in Anglophone literary and cultural studies, and tease out ways of incorporating these methods into students' own research projects. We will also discuss research approaches, research methods, and the application of scholarly relevant resources. Lehrmethodik
Lecture-style input, group work and discussion, student presentations, mini-tests, final exam; This class will be accompanied by a Moodle learning platform - detailed information concerning course dates, content, assessment, and course participation will be available in the syllabus, and information about the readings will be provided in the syllabus and on Moodle. Written assignments are due on Moodle if not specified otherwise by the instructor.
Inhalt/e
This class will focus on methods and theories in Anglophone literary and cultural studies with the intent to support ongoing research projects in their methodological and theoretical outlines. Students will critically engage with relevant theoretical and methodological texts and concepts in the humanities, pertaining to their field(s) of research and their own theses. Please note: one session (April 1) will be held on Wed to attend Fulbright Prof. Claudia Ford's lecture. Basic knowledge of Anglophone literary and cultural studies theories and methods, and a preliminary research idea for an MA thesis.
