Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Starting from a given research paper (or a few papers), the students will develop/enhance their skills to search, read, evaluate, understand, and summarize relevant literature on a new scientific topic. They will study this new topic to a degree that they will be able to present it to an interested, but non-expert audience in a readily accessible manner, both in writing (seminar paper) and in a presentation (seminar talk).In detail, the students willenhance their skills in searching, reading, evaluating, and understanding scientific publications;present a new topic/area to their fellow students in a scientifically thorough and precise, yet readily accessible way, in own words, figures/tables, and presentation slides; learn how to critically read and assess both scientific publications as well as the seminar papers of fellow students (by means of a peer review process);practice, and improve on, their scientific writing skills and oral presentations;

A mixture of lecture-based and individual learning
Inhalt/e
Different topics in the area of artificial intelligence and computer science in general will be offered in moodle and can be chosen by the students. The seminar paper is a state-of-the-art report on the selected topic and has to be presented both in writing and in an oral presenation (with slides). In addition, papers of other students have to be critically evaluated (review).
