Group work, workshops, online, extensive self-study, writing assignments in class and written homework assignments.Students are required to regularly read academic papers in English and discuss them in class in order to develop their academic reading skills and acquire academic vocabulary and register.

This course focusses on academic writing and covers the following:essay structure (introduction, main body and conclusion)thesis statementsessay planningessay typesciting and referencing (inclu. quoting, paraphrasing and summarising)style and features of formal academic writing (inclu. vocabulary, grammar and punctuation)
